Long Qualification - 16th one more time

Yesterday was the qualification race for the long-distance competition, my main goal this year.
My shape is quite good at the moment and I am very satisfied with my running speed, but due to some mistakes I kicked myself out of the final.

This years O-ringen competition format with 3 longdistances (one mass-start, a long WRE and the chasing-start) a sprint distance and middle distance competition was very interesting and also quite challenging. There was a good mixture of all disciplines, a nice terrain, good courses and a lot of prize-money to win. Most of the money was taken by Martin Johansson but at least a small amount went on my account.
Selectionrace Longdistance - Trainingcamp Slovenia

This weekend the Austrian team was in Slovenia for a WOC preparation camp and also for a selectionrace for WOC in Hungary.
On Thursday we started with a modelevent and on Friday the selectionrace on the longdistance was on our schedule.

Austrian Middledistance Championships - Carinthia

On sunday the first Championship-medals for this season were rewarded in Austria. On the middle distance course with 5,7km and 250m of climbing there was only one person that didn't seem to be exhausted at all ... unfortunately it wasn't me.

Regional Sprint Champs - Burgenland

Yesterday the regional Sprint Championships for Burgenland and Steiermark were held in Pinggau. This race was the debut for Gernot Kerschbaumer as mapmaker and coursesetter.
As a Top 10 runner in last years Worldchampionships in Sprint, we expected a challenging and demanding Sprint-Race from Gernot. High expectations - but he even topped them ...
